What’s the difference between the RemotePass API and the native integrations?
Native integrations are pre-built, plug-and-play connections with specific tools and require no dev work. The API is for building custom connections to any system — including tools not in our integrations library — or for creating workflows tailored to your specific business processes.
Do I need a developer to use the RemotePass API?
Not necessarily. You can connect RemotePass to thousands of apps through Zapier with no code at all. For custom integrations, you can use your own development team, an external developer, or our partner network, the REST API and webhooks follow standard conventions any developer will recognize.
What authentication methods does the API support?
The API supports OAuth 2.0, OAuth 1.0, and Basic authentication. You generate a company ID and secret key from your RemotePass account and choose the method that best fits your setup.
Can I sync data in real time?
Yes. Webhooks push events to your systems the moment they happen — typically in under a second — so changes like new hires, signed contracts, and paid invoices flow through instantly. For scheduled or bulk syncing, the REST API lets you pull data on your own cadence.
