Employee Leave Policies
Sick days
Sick leave in Bulgaria is up to 18 months. The first three sick days are paid by the employer at 70% of the employee's daily gross remuneration. The following days are paid by social security at 80% or 90% of the employee's daily salary (if the employee has completed at least six months of service or social security contributions).
Maternity leave
- Mothers are entitled to 410 days of maternity leave. 45 days can be used before birth. In addition, it is possible to transfer leave days to the father once the child reaches six months.
