A 1099 is another IRS form, most commonly used by employers when they hire contractors.
A 1099 is another IRS form, most commonly used by employers when they hire contractors. As a contractor, the employer does not withhold tax at the source; rather the contractor is required to pay their own taxes. The 1099 form is completed by the contractor to verify that they are not an employee and are not subject to at-source tax withholding.
